Know Your Destiny

Welcome to the New Horizon

Man has the innate capacity to outgrow and master all his ignorance, limitations, imperfections and darkness, and he should develop and grow into a creative, constructive and divine higher being. The human society should also grow in the same manner and conquer all darkness within and without, surpassing all racial, religious, linguistic, political and other artificial barriers, narrowness and limitations.

I believe in human progress and evolution. I believe that the Time has already come when Man should remould his life, individually and collectively, so that he can cross all his limitations and emerge as a higher, mightier, divine race, no more subject to ignorance and unconsciousness and mortality and diseases.

I say, following Sri Aurobindo:

Abandoning the dubious Middle Way,

A few shall glimpse the miraculous Origin

And some shall feel in you the secret Force

And they shall turn to meet a nameless tread,

Adventurers into a mightier Day.

Ascending out of the limiting breadths of mind

They shall discover the world’s huge design

And step into the Truth, the Right, the Vast. [Savitri]

I also follow Sri Aurobindo when He says:

A mightier race shall inhabit the mortal’s world.

On Nature’s luminous tops, on the Spirit’s ground,

The superman shall reign as king of life, make earth almost the mate and peer of heaven

And lead towards God and truth man’s ignorant earth

And lift toward godhead his mortality.

According to Sri Aurobindo, this earth, which so far has been a mortals’ world, shall be inhabited by a mightier race, the supramental race. And the earth shall be then transmuted to become almost an equal of the heaven. The very foundations of Darkness shall then be attacked by Light, and Divine Harmony shall then rule this earth.

He says again:

Then in the process evolving Time

All shall be drawn into a single plan,

A divine harmony shall be the earth’s law

And beauty and Joy remould her way to live :

Even the body shall remember God,

Nature shall drawback from mortality

And Spirit’s fires shall guide the earth’s blind force;

Knowledge shall bring into the aspirant Thought

A high proximity to Truth and God.

A time will then come, says Sri Aurobindo, when ultimately death will be conquered, and earth’s blind force will also be controlled the fires of the Spirit.

I say, following the Mother [Mira Alfassa]:

Man is the creation of Yesterday.

Sri Aurobindo came to announce the creation of tomorrow: the coming of the supramental being.

And for this coming of the supramental being, Sri Aurobindo says that Man has to ascend from Mind to various higher levels of Mind, and then to the Supermind. Man has to go through the ways of Transformation. And when the human aspiration rises to a height, then only Supermind shall descend on earth.

The Mother [Mira Alfassa] declares that the Time has already come. Let me quote the relevant message fro the Mother from Mother’s Agenda, vol.1 :

FIRST SUPRAMENTAL MANIFESTATION

(During the common meditation on Wednesday

The 29^th February 1956)

This evening the Divine Presence, concrete and material, was there present amongst you. I had the form of a living gold, bigger than the universe, and I was facing a huge and massive golden door, which separated the world from the Divine.

As I looked at the door, I knew and willed, in a single movement of consciousness, that ‘the time has come’, and lifting with both hands a mighty golden hammer I struck one blow on the door and the door was shattered to pieces.

Then the supramental Light and Force and Consciousness rushed down upon earth in an uninterrupted flow.

Man has problems. He has sufferings, defeats, imperfections, incompleteness, failures, diseases, ignorance, darkness, inertia, animal hungers, dissatisfactions, sorrows and death. He is limited, imprisoned, in chains everywhere. And he finally succumbs to an unwelcome death.

But he questions his imperfections, incompleteness, ignorance, darkness, diseases, and even his death. He has an inborn aspiration to overcome all these and to have the conquest over all his imperfections and defeats. He has tried to fulfil this aspiration by his progress and growth in knowledge and use and application of sciences, foundation of philosophies and schools of thoughts, and researches into the spiritual domain, through political and social changes, reformations and revolutions, through economic changes, through industrial and agricultural reformations and growth, and through religions. There have been prophets, seers and sages from time immemorial, philosophers, scientists and socio-political thinkers, but Man find himself back at the square one. Some persons might have attained moksha [spiritual liberation] or nirvana or nearness to the heavenly Lord, but the trillions and trillions of human beings are at the same place, in front of the Sphinx.

As long as man continues to remain what he has been so long in the past fifty millennia or so, since the days of the Homo Sapiens, bound to his past and his limitations and imperfections and incapacities, his ignorance and darkness, there cannot be any hope for him.

He must solve the riddle of existence. He must surpass himself, cross his limitations, aspire to transcend himself and prepare himself for the new World.

Says the Mother :

Sri Aurobindo came on earth from the Supreme to announce the manifestation of a new race and a new world, the Supramental.

This is your true Destiny, your true Goal: to prepare yourself, to build yourself for the advent of the new world, new race, new Humanity, to march towards the New Horizon, to grow towards becoming the Supramental being.

The Transformation from the human being to the supramental being has three phases: the psychic transformation, the spiritual transformation and the supramental transformation. The psychic transformation is the indispensable and inevitable phase: to know yourself and to be yourself. The Apex of the aspiration to know yourself and be yourself is this psychic transformation. Unveil your psychic being, manifest it and then transform yourself with its light and knowledge and power and joy. This is the beginning.
